A Canary Islands judge is finding themselves in the news this week after a stunning decision went viral. According to reports — Colin Watson, 51, has been granted the right to go on vacation before he can be sentenced for more than 5 very serious crimes.
Apparently, Watson had for some time had a long-planned vacation to Tenerife (where that is we’re not quite sure). Each of the five crimes that Watson is reportedly charged with carries 4-10 years in jail apiece. Per the ruling, the judge claimed that it “was an act of mercy”.
The judge, whom we won’t name, declined to comment when we reached out to the courthouse in Canary Islands for comment.
