Don’t expect Queen Latifah to accept an award in Philly this month, per reports. According to Page Six, the Grammy-winning rapper and actress reportedly “won’t accept a major award for a black cultural figure citing personal reasons. Those reasons remain unknown”.
Page Six notes that Latifah was set to receive the Marian Anderson Award at an upcoming gala, but, has notified the organization that she refuses to accept the award. The award is meant to honor legendary names in black entertainment that have shattered barriers, and, essentially helped shape the entertainment spectrum throughout their lives.
