While Tesco declined to comment on the video, it, has surfaced online and to multiple media outlets. Over the week, a couple reportedly went to Tesco whereas they apparently wanted to buy a trolley full of bottles of water.
Story correction: A previous version of this story stated that Tesco has not commented on the situation. Tesco has now released a comment to The Daily News as they have to the Daily Mail and numerous outlets. The statement is as follows.
Customers who wish to purchase in bulk are asked to order stock in advance of visiting their local Tesco. Â
The result? According to witnesses; reports, and numerous other store employees — particular clerks refused to sell the apparent water bottles. Instead, uh, they called local police which then resulted in the situation becoming something it shouldn’t have.
The couple in the video has been identified as Nasir Hussain and Mahira Hussain, both of Oldham.
