CAIRO —Â Â If there’s one thing George Clooney probably isn’t all that familiar with, that, just might be international politics and Egyptian law. According to reports, barrister Amal Alamuddin-Clooney faces arrest in Egypt this week over claims that she exposed severe flaws in Egypt’s legal system, that later led to the conviction of three Al Jazeera journalists.
The three journalists in question, are now each Alamuddin’s clients. The problem now sits with the fact that Alamuddin notably published and released a report signaling a number of flaws with Egypt’s judicial system. What system, you say? The same one Mohamed Nagy Shehat is a part of, the judge, that at one point sentenced the three reporters to 8 to 10 years in prison respectively.
Amal reportedly now fears that the three reporters may not receive a fair trial, because, she revealed flaws in the system that got them arrested in the first place.
