To the tune of 30%. According to the White House, Trump, has slapped a new tariff on imported solar panels. Time Magazine notes that the tariffs are apparently deep-seated attempts by Trump to “maintain leveled competition for the U.S and its own manufacturers of such products” rather than letting things continue to slide in and out of Asia “on a cheap scale”.
On Monday, Trump, approved four years of tariffs at 30% that will then drop to just 15% following the first four years.
