USA Gymnastics paid Makayla Maroney $1.25m to keep quiet about abuse

There’s a problem inside the USA Gymnastics organization, and uh, it apparently includes massive corruption.  According to  secretly leaked confidential documents from the organization,   the organization apparently paid Olympic great Makayla Maroney upwards of $1.25m  to keep her silent about the horrifying sexual abuse at the hands of the once trusted doctor used by the organization — Larry Nassar.

Nassar faces multiple counts of sexual abuse allegations from more than two dozen female gymnasts, and, was suspended from his duties just under a month ago. A lawsuit filed by John Manly, representing Maroney and others, claims that  the organization “participated in a systematic cover up” to shield themselves from having to answer “for the terrors one of their own doctors inflicted on  their gymnasts”.

Phone calls to the USA Gymnasts organization resulted in Daily News reporters being hung up on.
