Sexual assault allegations in Hollywood are nothing new, and as of late, they’re all but rampant in Hollywood as a whole. According to Oliver Stone, the claims made by   Melissa Gilbert dating back to 1991 are untrue and can’t be true for a number of reasons.

First, in 1991, Gilbert went to  an audition for a movie called The Doors. That movie, along with the script, was pretty raunchy in itself and had numerous known sexual innuendos available for the cast to have read at the time. This is where the allegations get a little murky.

Gilbert claims that during the audition, Stone, personally wrote a scene for her that required her to be on her hands and knees begging for sex. A claim, that, appears to be a little facetious.

In a statement, Stone, acknowledged that the film was extremely raunchy but “such was relayed to those auditioning and all potential  cast members”.  Meg Ryan would go on to get the part that Gilbert wanted.
