He’s long enjoyed the support of Liberty University ‘s nutty religious President, but now, its students are returning their diplomas in the masses. According to reports, University grads dating back to at least 2006 are returning their degrees in “protests to the comments made on Charlottesville”.
The Daily News caught up with a few students via Facebook who were more than willing to talk to us, but, on a condition that they remained anonymous due to the concern of death threats. Several students noted that they were returning their degrees because “we just don’t stand with what’s being said or how this school supports it. This isn’t about religion or religious freedom, this, is straight up discrimination and bigotry”.
Liberty University, meanwhile, is “concerned that so many students” are returning their diplomas while current students are “reportedly planning further protests” according to one particular student body President.
