According to the House Speaker, Paul Ryan, has confirmed that Republicans in the United States reportedly plan to strip Planned Parenthood of its funding come next month. The move will reportedly and apparently come as part of their fast-track repeal of Obamacare, but, there’s something interesting within such a move.
Republicans and Paul Ryan himself claim that the move is to fight abortion. But, federally funded money hasn’t been legally allowed for use with abortions in more than 40 years per the Hyde Amendment to funding bills. Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood reportedly stands to lose at least 40% of its funding if the bill actually passes.
