CAIRO — Egyptian officials have confirmed that the brief disappearance, and then, discovery of Egypt air Flight 804 in the Mediterranean was indeed a terrorist hijacking. Officials confirmed via the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs that “This does not appear to be a malfunction, but, instead a terrorist hijacking”.
This comes just hours after Egypt was among the first to cite the plane’s troubles as a terrorist attack. Flight 804 first disappeared this morning roughly around 2:00 am local time during a flight from Paris to Cairo. Â The plane formally and entirely disappeared from air traffic control around 4:30 am this morning. As of this writing, debris from the plane have been found.
No official word on who may be responsible for the hijacking of Egyptian Air Flight 804.
